Certified Document Translation in Thailand

We translate Thai documents into English and other languages, and foreign documents into Thai, for visa applications, study abroad, marriage registration, company filings and court use. Every translation is prepared by a professional translator, checked against the original and formatted so the receiving office can match each line to the source document.

Certified Document Translation in Thailand

Documents we translate most often

Most requests come from people preparing a visa or residence application, registering a marriage with a foreign partner, enrolling at a foreign university, or submitting company records to a Thai or overseas authority. Each of these receivers has its own expectations about layout, names and stamps, so we ask where the translation will be submitted before we begin.

  • Civil records: house registration (Tabien Baan), ID card, birth, marriage, divorce and name-change certificates
  • Education records: transcripts, degree certificates and course descriptions
  • Business records: company affidavits, shareholder lists, financial statements and contracts
  • Police clearance certificates, court judgments and powers of attorney
  • Bank statements, employment letters and income evidence for visa files

Translator certification and NAATI

Standard translations carry the translator's certification statement confirming the translation is accurate and complete. Some receivers ask for more: Australian authorities often request translations by a NAATI-certified translator, and some Thai government offices or embassies ask for a translation that is later certified by a notarial services attorney or legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Requirements change and differ between offices, so we recommend checking the latest instructions from the receiving authority. Tell us what that office has asked for and we will explain which level of certification matches it before you commit to anything.

Names, dates and consistency

The most common reason a translated file is questioned is inconsistency: a name spelled one way in the passport and another way in a certificate, or a Buddhist Era date converted incorrectly. We follow the spelling in your passport, convert dates carefully and keep the same spelling throughout every document in the set.

If your documents already contain different spellings, we flag them so you can decide with the receiving office whether a supporting letter or a name-change record is needed. We do not alter what an original document says.

Turnaround and pricing

Timing depends on the number of pages, the language pair, how dense the text is and whether certification or legalisation follows. Pricing is quoted per job after we see the documents, because a one-page ID card and a forty-page contract require very different work. Send clear scans by LINE or email and our team will reply with a written quotation and an estimated timeline.

Translations for visa applications

Visa files are where translation quality matters most, because a case officer may compare each translated line with the original and with the rest of the application. Bank statements, employment certificates, house registration and birth certificates are the documents we see most often in Thai visa files for the United States, the United Kingdom, the Schengen area, Australia, Canada, Japan and Korea.

Each destination publishes its own rules. Some accept a translator's statement on company letterhead, some ask for a certified translator with a declaration, and some require the translation to be attached to a copy of the original. We read the current instructions for the visa you are applying for and match the format, but the instructions published by the embassy or immigration department always take priority over general advice, including ours.

Translations for marriage and family matters

Marriage registration with a foreign partner at a Thai district office usually starts with documents issued abroad, such as a certificate of no impediment or a single-status affirmation. These must be translated into Thai and the translation certified before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accept them. The reverse also happens: Thai marriage certificates, name-change records and household registrations are translated into English for spouse visas and for registration in the partner's home country.

Family files often contain several documents with overlapping names and dates, which is why we translate them together as one set and keep spellings aligned. If an earlier translation was prepared elsewhere, we can review it against the original and point out differences before you submit it.

Business, legal and court documents

Companies use our translators for affidavits from the Department of Business Development, shareholder registers, memoranda of association, board resolutions, contracts and financial statements. Law firms and individuals ask for court orders, judgments, divorce decrees and police reports. These documents use fixed legal terms, so our translators keep a consistent glossary and leave official registration numbers, seals and signatures clearly identified rather than paraphrased.

Legal translations describe what the document says; they do not interpret its effect. If you need advice on what a contract or judgment means for you, that is a separate question for a qualified lawyer.

How to send documents and protect your data

Clear colour scans or phone photos taken in good light are usually enough to quote and begin work. Make sure all four corners, every stamp and any handwriting on the back are visible, because a translator must account for everything on the page. Documents are used only to prepare your translation and the services you request, and you can ask us how long copies are kept.

When certification or legalisation follows, we tell you in advance whether originals are needed and where they must be presented, so you do not have to make extra trips.

Frequently asked questions

Will the embassy accept your translation?

Acceptance is decided by the receiving authority. We prepare translations to the format most offices request and explain the certification options, but we cannot promise any authority's decision. Please check the receiver's current instructions.

Do I need to bring the original documents?

For translation alone, clear scans are usually enough. If notarial certification or Ministry of Foreign Affairs legalisation follows, the originals or certified copies may need to be presented.

Which languages do you handle?

Thai and English are our core pair. Other languages can be arranged through our translator network; ask our team with the document and target language.
